PEMT – What is light PEMT?

Light post-editing needs to be performed to make the text readable and understandable. The LIGHT PEMT is a proofreading project, where the author must proofread everything.
The expectation for Light PEMT is to have a comprehensible text, without necessarily being equal to human translation.
The main characteristics are:
• Grammar and spelling rules take a back seat to meaning
• Meaning is prioritised over and above syntax and style
• Offensive or inappropriate terms must be corrected
• Coherent terminology is not a priority

If it's correct and comprehensible in the target, there is no need to change anything. The translator should resist the temptation to delete, rewrite and reorganise too much of the text.
The translator should make the target text sound comprehensible, there is no need to spend too much time on style issues
